ViBravo String Ensemble

The ViBravo String Ensemble (formerly, Clayton Honors Orchestra) was established in 2007 by Jan Davis. Over the past four years, this orchestra has enjoyed workshops with the Missouri State string faculty in Springfield, Missouri and Tracey Silverman in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, the ensemble was selected in 2010 to perform at the Missouri Music Educators State Conference.

The ViBravo String Ensemble is open to all elementary and middle school students. Currently, the orchestra is comprised of 29 students who are a product of school district instruction while the remaining 19 students come to the orchestra with previous knowledge of their instrument.  Once students reach the level of proficiency required to be in the orchestra, private lessons are encouraged. Currently, 94% of our members study privately. ViBravo String Ensemble members must also be enrolled in their school orchestra in order to participate in this ensemble.

Elementary students meet once weekly before or after school.  Wydown Middle school ensemble members meet with Dr. Davis to rehearse in small groups once weekly during their scheduled middle school orchestra period. A 75 minute full orchestra rehearsal is scheduled after school every Thursday.
