Our students' birthdays are recognized during morning announcements.  Parents who would like to provide birthday treats are expected to adhere to the District Food Allergy Management Policy.  No peanuts, tree nuts or products of peanuts or tree nuts are permitted in elementary school classrooms.  In an effort to ensure a safe and healthy experience for all, only store bought snacks/treats clearly labeled with ingredients are permitted.

Some treats are labeled with disclaimers about trace amounts of peanuts or tree nuts or processed in factories with peanuts or tree nuts.  For this reason, parents of a child with a life threatening food allergy may provide a safe alternative treat, or the teacher will provide a popsicle for the child.

Birthday treats should be arranged with teachers at least three days in advance and dropped by 9:00 a.m. on the day agreed upon to ensure adequate time for the birthday celebration.  Each grade level schedule is unique and celebrations occur at different times of the day.
