After a year of construction, the addition and renovations to Glenridge Elementary School are complete. The improvements to the facility were possible thanks to the Clayton community's support of Proposition S in April 2009.

Glenridge Projects Funded Through Prop S

  • New science lab provides dedicated space for science specialists and to support increased focus on K-5 science
  • Compact, three-story addition moves classroom and science lab into new addition and converts old space into flexible, small-group learning space, which allows programs such as EL, OT, PT and learning support to move out of the hallways and vestibules and into more appropriate spaces
  • Basement of addition serves as expanded cafeteria and provides flexible space to better accommodate large group activities
  • Fifth-grade classrooms reconfigured to provide more space
  • Improvements to the gymnasium replace antiquated lighting, update finishes and repair damaged floor
  • Counselor’s office expanded and relocated to better support students and their families and provide space that is on-par with other elementary schools
  • Teacher work room renovated
  • New entry plaza and relocated bus drop off near kindergarten entry
  • Additional parking and reconfigured lot improve traffic circulation
  • Expanded storage added to address storage needs
  • Grass area of playfield re-graded to improve drainage
  • Additional power and data wiring increases capacity in all classrooms
  • HVAC equipment updated and replaced to improve indoor air quality and increase energy efficiency
  • Fire sprinklers installed throughout building
  • New electrical service entrance gear replaces existing, leaky gear
