SPECIAL STATEMENT REGARDING SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES AND ELIGIBILITY

Over the last several years, the Missouri State High School Activities Association has changed their eligibility requirements for high school student-athletes. The biggest change was requiring that student-athletes be enrolled in 3.0 credits the current semester and have passed 3.0 credits the previous semester. There has also been a change in the interpretation of the rule governing credit for summer school. In order for a summer school course to count toward athletic eligibility the course must be required for graduation, and no electives may be used for eligibility. If you are taking a summer course to maintain your eligibility, please make sure the course meets these requirements by checking with your counselor.
