The School District of Clayton will save an estimated $651,000 over the next 20 years while reducing its impact on the environment with the installation of eight arrays of solar panels on six buildings across the District. Meramec Elementary students gained greater awareness and respect for people with differing abilities during the school’s third annual Abilities Awareness Experience held on Friday, April 19. Standard & Poor’s (S & P) Ratings Services has reaffirmed the School District of Clayton’s AAA bond rating following a recent review of the District’s finances. AAA is the highest rating available for public school districts, and Clayton is one of only four districts in Missouri to maintain a AAA rating. S & P revaluated the rating when Clayton sought to refinance a portion of its outstanding general obligation bonds. The refinance will save the District more than $250,000 in interest over the life of the bonds. Click on the headline to read the article.
