Welcome to science at Meramec! I look forward to working with teachers and children in our beautiful science lab during my third year at Meramec. We will continue to use the FOSS science curriculum in all grades K-5. If you would like to learn more about the FOSS program, visit the FOSS website at http://www.fossweb.com.

It is with great pleasure that I get to combine two of my deepest passions - teaching and science - under one beautiful roof! I look forward to it all: the teaching, the learning, the relationships, and the growth. Meramec is a wonderful community, and I am honored to be a part of it.

Enjoy the pictures below showing our young Meramec scientists hard at work in our new science lab. You'll see photos of second graders observing rocks, third graders examining their shadows outside as well as acting out two important words - revolve and rotate, fourth graders experimenting with magnets, and fifth graders experimenting with lifeboats they created. Enjoy!

Second graders in Mrs. Liberman's using hand lenses to explore and sort river rocks during the 'Pebbles, Sand, and Silt unit.

Third graders in Mrs. West's & Mrs. Hutson's class acting out revolving and rotating and observing their early morning shadows during the 'Sun, Moon, and Stars' unit.

Fourth graders in Mrs. Olson's class investigating magnetism during the 'Magnetism & Electricity unit.

Fifth graders in Miss Swan's class working with their lifeboats during the 'Variables' unit.
